The 2016 East Texas Comedy Festival is June 21-25th, 2016 in Downtown Tyler.
The East Texas Comedy Festival
The East Texas Comedy Festival (ETFC) is a 5 day improv and stand up festival presented by The City of Tyler to raise awareness for comedy in East Texas. The event takes place at multiple venues all within walking distance of one another in the heart of the city. The home base of the East Texas Comedy Festival is Liberty Hall, a 300-seat art deco theater. Comedians and improvisers from all over the country come to Tyler to perform during the course of the festival.

Michael Winslow (Stand-up)

Michael Winslow is an American actor, beatboxer and comedian billed as the "Man of 10,000 Sound Effects" for his ability to make realistic sounds using only his voice.
Michael, a master of vocal gymnastics, can imitate over 1000 sound effects using his voice alone. Whether he is recreating the frenzy of Jimi Hendrix playing the guitar, or the roar of a jet plane, his talent is truly remarkable and his versatility admirable and enjoyable for all ages!
Susan Messing "The Boys" (Improv)

Susan Messing, a NJ native and graduate of Northwestern University’s Theatre School, has been an improviser and comedian for over twenty-five years. She is an alumna of the iO Theatre, Second City’s Mainstage, and a founding member of Chicago’s infamous Annoyance Theatre. Susan created and has taught her curriculum at iO and iO West, The Annoyance Theatre, The Second City, and around the globe. Her standup act with her puppet, Jolly, was featured at the HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, and on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and NBC’s Late Fridays. Her most impressive bit movie role was as a bad stripper in a halo brace in Let’s Go to Prison! She was in the lineup for the TBS/Just For Laughs festival all five years of its residence in Chicago. Susan will be performing with Rachel Mason as "The Boys."
Rachel Mason "The Boys" (Improv)

Rachael Mason began her career in improvisation at Skidmore College, home of the National College Comedy Festival, with the Ad-Liberal Artists. After graduating with a degree in English Literature, concentrating on Shakespearean Studies, she moved to Chicago to study improv comedy with Del Close. She trained at The Second City, The Annoyance, and iO. Currently she performs with The Second City Improv Allstars, and The Boys. She is most happy when she is teaching improv. Rachel will be performing with Susan Messing as "The Boys."
Chris Fairbanks (Stand-up)

Originally from Montana, Chris headlines comedy venues nationally. His fast paced, quirky and constantly improvised act has been showcased on Comedy Central, Conan, Last Comic Standing, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Vh1 and on several truTV shows. Chris will also be seen the 2016 film, Still Punching the Clown and performing on Seeso (NBC's new comedy streaming platform).
Chris' first comedy album, Fairbanks! was named one of Amazon and Amazon MP3's "Top Ten of 2010." He also co-hosts the popular podcast, Do You Need a Ride, on All Things Comedy.

Paul Varghese has been seen on NBC's Last Comic Standing,
Showtime's "Russell Peters Presents", Comedy
Central's "Live at Gotham" and "Stand-up Revolution".
He opened for Dave Chappelle in his mini-tour through
Texas in 2012 and is a previous winner of the Funniest
Comic in Texas Competition and the Laughing Skull
Comedy Competition. He also has an album out on iTunes
called "Paul and Oates".
The Band (Improv)

The Band is an improv sketch musical comedy troupe based in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. The Band features a blend of improvisation, sketches, music, and audience participation into a unique and entertaining comedic experience.
Featuring: Bryan Hardy, Chad Cline, Dan Glaser, Jason Folks, Steve Hargrave, and Musical Director Austin Day.

Card53 is a Tyler, Texas based improv troupe that focuses on short form games that form the basis of their hilarious of the cuff make-em-ups.
Card53 is made up of: Jamey Whitley, Aaron Smith, Brad Johnson, R.J. Norman, Erfan Vafaie and Musical Director Austin Day.
Brandon Davidson (Stand-up)
As a veteran stand-up comedian, Brandon Davidson has found success in film, television and radio as well as on the live stage. He also wrote this bio. Guys, He's feeling bad for lying a little bit. So, let's get real.
Brandon's comedy is based on his experience as a father, husband, BBQ lover and disappointment to his parents. He's a regular in clubs, casinos and the occasional dive bar. He's really excited that Dadbod is thing now. Brandon once used the restroom next to former President Bill Clinton at a movie theater during a showing of Encino Man (starring Pauly Shore).
Tyler Elliott (Stand-up)
Tyler Elliott is tall. Originally from Oklahoma, he has lived in Texas for the last 7 years. He has performed in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Tyler has been doing standup since 2011. He eats a lot of Laffy Taffys.
